Supervision
To take up any role effectively, you have to be able to stand outside of the role. Professional supervision enables you to observe your participation in the organisation, to be a part of and apart from, to become aware of the many contexts that are informing how you are acting into any situation. These contexts include personal, familial, professional, organisational and cultural. The mark of a professional is the ability to know when they need to ask for help, to get advice and to recognise the limits of their own competence in any moment. Professionalism is the conscious awareness of this in my work.
I want to keep you on the edge of your learning, the space between what you feel comfortable with and uncomfortable with, wht your are sure of and uncertain of in your work.
